Bacon Tailgate
In honor of the first (and possibly only) night game this season for the Golden Gopher football team I planned a tailgate party focused around bacon. I had been thinking about this since the off season when a coworker graciously found me a bottle of Rogue Voodoo Doughnut Maple Bacon Ale (1). It was all downhill from there. I had already collected a few bottles of Torani Bacon Flavoring Syrup (2) (I used it in a Jack and Coke). For food items I prepared bacon-wrapped jalapeno poppers with cream cheese (3), bacon-wrapped chicken tenders (4), bacon-wrapped shrimp (5), bacon-wrapped brats (6), sauerkraut with bacon bits (7) and some candied bacon (8). I also purchased a bag of Ruffles MAX Loaded Bacon & Cheddar Potato Skins Flavored Potato Chips (9) and Bacon Cheddar Pretzel Pieces (10). All in all, ten different items dedicated to bacon. Reviews by those in attendance were very positive. Most enjoyed the shrimp, jalapenos and candied bacon best. Bacon ale was probably the worst received. I enjoyed it, but definitely not something you would drink regularly.
Minnesota State Fair Day 4: Food (I also had a second turkey sandwich, second ear of roast corn, and second batch of Sweet Martha’s).
Should I be concerned at how easy it is for me consume an entire frozen pizza by myself?
If they could somehow infuse a cheeseburger into this, I would die happy.
