Note to self: never go back to the Quarry Rainbow Foods again. Ever.

I use Slacker as my preferred internet radio provider.  Tonight I heard an advertisement that they are adding the Minneapolis radio station, the Current, to their pre-programmed line-up.  That’s pretty awesome.  The ad was even delivered by local DJ, Mark Wheat.

Minneapolis, MN

While walking across the pedestrian bridges over Washington Ave in front of Coffman Union I looked to the Minneapolis skyline.  Of course the Metrodome roof was noticeably absent.  I’m not sure how I feel about it.  It’s been there for as long as I’ve been in Minnesota, but it was an eyesore.  I’m not sure what wins out, appearance or nostalgia.

Honestly I thought that there would be a lot more red and no green after 15-20 inches of snow.

If you haven’t seen it already.  Here it is again.  Meterbrat.

Meterbrat

Being the awesome person that I am, I’ve decided to attempt (and conquer) the meterbrat at Gastof’s for my birthday.

I’m excited about it, although, as it get’s closer and more and more people ask me if I’m preparing, I’ve begun to think about it more.  Therefore I’ve run some numbers and determined that while filling it shouldn’t be a problem.

The largest thing that I can recall eating is a Chipotle/Qdoba burrito.  In comparing the two, the meterbrat is roughly the same as two burritos (by volume and weight).  I can put down a burrito with no problems and even have room for more.

Here are the numbers:

I figure that a brat is about 8 inches in circumference and the meterbrat is a meter long so that figures to be ~200 cu in.  A burrito is about 14 inches in circumference and is about 7 inches long so that figures to be about 109 cu in.  Considering the two sides I’ll have to eat this roughly means that (meterbrat and 2 sides) = (2x Chipotle/Qdoba burritos).

PS.  I first saw this on the show Man v. Food on the Travel channel.

PPS.  If you care to watch me, call me.  I’ve made a reservation for Saturday, 7/18, although I left a few extra spots.  Call me and I’ll give you more details.
