Professional Wrestling
I tuned into WWE Raw tonight.  I used to watch wrestling all the time.  When I was in high school I knew everything there was to know about the WWF and WCW.  I knew who the champions were.  I knew all their finishing moves, everything.  I stopped watching in college, mainly because I didn’t have cable and in some cases a TV.  I still know some of the current wrestlers, they’re history...

I wish I would have seen this live, but alas I was stuck in the office mere yards away.

sarahschneider: Sometimes I feel like an imposter, asserting my love for music without being able to claim even half the musical knowledge shared by some of my friends (Adam, Amanda, Pavla, Jakob, oh I don’t know, EVERYONE). I wish I could participate in the (seemingly) compelling conversations between Adam and his friends, discussing the pros and cons of bands while I’m simply learning of...

Adulthood
I went to church this morning and started thinking some of my random thoughts.  I’m 26 years old, 27 in July and I’m what most would call an adult.  It’s funny how things that didn’t make sense even when I was 21 now totally make sense.  Church is one of those things.  I’ve gone to church my whole life and it’s always been there.  My family is not uber religious...

Stand Up
I did some stand up comedy this evening.  There is this little campus bar that for some reason has installed a small open mic/comedy show in it’s basement.  My friend Joe has done it a couple times and I’ve gone a few more.  Some of the comics are super hillarious, others are pretty good.  I did it last year for my birthday on the fly.  I did it again tonight with a little more...

Aggravated
Technology has not been my friend for the last 24 hours.  I tried to do some homework last night and my computer wasn’t responding.  I was a little over stressed at work today and my work computer, phone, etc kept making it worse.  My HDTV signal went out during LOST when I was engrossed into the show.  Finally as I started to type this entry my computer locked up and I had to restart.  I...

Oh No! The ECONOMY!
So the reason for the worry about the economy is that nobody is spending money, right?  My basic understanding is that for the economy to do “well”, money needs to exchange hands and be passed around.  Don’t you think that the only reason people are cautious with money is because they’re unsure of their own economic future?  So in essence isn’t the economy one giant...

Favorite Concerts
As a follow up here are a list of some of my favorite concerts. The Hives, February 2008, First Avenue, Minneapolis, MN  Foo Fighters, October 2002, First Avenue, Minneapolis, MN (The Foo Fighters were just about to begin their first headlining arena tour in support of One By One.  They had a practice show in this “smaller” club in Minneapolis.  Tickets were super hard to come by,...

WatchWatch
I went to see the Hives last week.  They were awesome!  Definitely one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.  I’ve got more videos on Vimeo and photos on Facebook.

finetune →
Probably a year ago a friend told me about finetune which is a streaming music website.  I wrote it off as I was fairly happy with my launchcast station.  The other day though I found that there were a lot of very specific songs that I wanted to hear that weren’t coming up on my launchcast station.  Finetune changes all of that.  You can select the certain songs you want to hear (only 3 from...

This is one of the coolest things I’ve heard in a long time.  Almost cooler than the Shadow Government that the United States has hiding in the mountains of Appalachia.  Jk.

A new week
My work week appears to be fairly uneventful.  Although the music portion of my week should be pretty good.  Two concerts, one Wednesday and one Thursday.  The Foo Fighters and the Hives.  I’m pretty excited for both.  Two of my favorites.  Thinking back I think I’ve only missed one Foo show since I’ve been in Minnesota.  And I’ve never seen the Hives, which I’ve...

Bad weather may delay satellite shootdown attempt... →
So at one point in time a month or so ago I thought I remembered hearing about the military shooting down one of their own satellites because they were afraid it would survive the fall from space with critical components intact.  If it were to fall into Russia or China that would be bad, because then they would have bits and pieces of our top secret technology.  Now all we hear about is that they...

Grinds my Gears
People riding their bikes in the middle of winter.  There should be a law against riding bikes between November and February or when it’s below freezing outside.  Seeing these geniuses riding around around zero degrees F pains me physically.  With the addition of the wind it drops the temp even more, not to mention it’s harder to pedal through snow.  What do people who ride their bike...
